A very important thing that most of the Muslims ignore or not actualize much in their lives is to get in the propensity for sending Durood (salam) on the Holy Prophet (SAW).
Sending blessings on Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is of much significance that Allah has clearly announced in the Holy Quran doing as such Himself alongside the heavenly attendants and after that ordered the followers to do likewise.
If we take a closer look at the Quran, so Allah has said in this regard: “Allah sends His Salaah (Graces, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad), and also His angels (Angels ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salah on (ask Allaah to bless) him (Muhammad), and greet him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation, i.e. As?Salaamu ‘Alaykum)”
This proofs the fact that sending blessings on the Holy Prophet is of great importance.
Acceptance of Dua with Durood Shareef
In a hadith, it was said: “Dua is suspended between heaven and earth and none of it is taken up until you send blessings upon your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”
So whenever we make a dua, we must send blessings on the Holy Prophet (SAW) before and after asking Allah for anything; this is beneficial for own sake as we will get a higher reward and our duas will be accepted.
Reward of Durood Shareef
People who are in the habit of reciting Durood shareef day and night will have a high reward as promised by our religious guiding.
There is a hadith that spreads light over this matter, it was stated by the Holy Prophet (SAW): “The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who send the most blessings on me.”
This means that Durood shareef will eventually lead us to paradise as it will make us close to the Messenger of Allah. This hadith comes with a promise in itself that we will get paradise one day if we follow this simple path.
As simple as this is, we should make this a habit that whenever and wherever we are, we must keep sending blessings on our Holy Prophet (SAW) as in one way it is for own good, not just Allah will be happy with us, but he will provide us with amazing rewards too.
Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is the most important person in the world of Islam and sending blessings upon him is an essential thing for us as Muslims. We must follow this, and it will make our bond with Allah and His Messenger so much stronger as mentioned in the Quran. If you got Allah, you got everything, and if you lost Allah, you would eventually lose it all.
